The councilor of Vagos City Council, Susana Gravato, died this Tuesday (October 21), at the age of 49, informed the outgoing president of that municipality in the district of Aveiro.

“We are in shock and dismayed,” mayor João Paulo Sousa told Lusa.

According to the mayor, the circumstances of the death are not known to him.

The Vagos Fire Commander stated that the alert, via 112, was given at 3:08 pm “for a victim in cardiorespiratory arrest”. “Upon our arrival, we came across the victim’s husband maneuvering [de reanimação] and we continued until the arrival of the medical vehicle, which declared death on the spot”, said José Santos.

The case was handed over to the Judiciary Police (PJ), indicated the Territorial Command of the National Republican Guard (GNR) from Aveiro to Lusa.

Susana Gravato was born in Ílhavo, but lived since she was six years old in Gafanha da Vagueira, in the municipality of Vagos. With a law degree, she practiced law and was a member of the PSD since 1994.

In 2009, she was elected municipal deputy for the Vagos Primeiro movement, but she currently served as a councilor in the outgoing executive (PSD), with responsibility for the environment, justice, general administration, social cohesion and health, among others.
