Christian Bruckner being led away by police.

MADELEINE McCann suspect Christian Brueckner was dramatically moved from his flat today after moaning about his address being leaked.

The paedophile, 48, was escorted from the two-bed flat given to him by a local council after his address and pictures of his home were posted in a local WhatsApp chat.

Fury has been mounting in the German town where Brueckner was dumped after the convicted rapist was freed from prison on September 19.

It is understood the address was posted in a WhatsApp group that Brueckner had secretly joined to creepily spy on messages about him.

He then alerted his lawyers who demanded whinging Brueckner be moved to a new location.

It comes just days after The Sun revealed the smirking sex offender had gloated in a phone shop that he had information to “solve the scandal of the century,” in a clear nod to the McCann case.

Arrogantly swilling a cup of coffee and laughing at his ankle tag he said he was “under control” but admitted he “would not be here long” telling a shop worker people out there wanted him killed.

After Brueckner’s address was posted online two vans arrived at the apartment block – with as many as six standing guard outside his front door.

Brueckner could be seen peering out of the window where locals told he had been taking pictures of them – just feet from where young children had been playing.

The Sun witnessed the convicted paedophile eerily crouching down to peer over his groundfloor windowsill at locals as they passed outside.

It also emerged his lawyers are planning to challenge the travel restrictions – and argue he will not be able to lead a normal life in Germany because of his profile.

Brueckner was seen twice at different kebab shops, and partying at a nightclub 48 hours after being freed from JVA Sehnde prison, near Hanover.

He was released after finishing a seven-year term for the 2005 rape and torture of an American woman, 72, in Portugal’s Praia da Luz — the same village Madeleine disappeared from.

While he remains German cops’ prime suspect over Madeleine’s disappearance and murder, no arrest warrants exist, so there is nothing to keep him behind bars.

Investigators say they have physical evidence Madeleine is dead but no forensic proof tying Brueckner to the case.

Police have confirmed his phone was near Ocean Club at the time when the McCanns were staying.

Witness Helge Busching claims a year later Brueckner confessed to him at a music festival, in Spain, saying “she didn’t scream”, as the pair discussed Madeleine.

Overwhelming evidence

An exclusive Sun investigation aired as a Channel 4 documentary in May revealed cops are in possession of images that help contribute to their understanding Madeleine is dead.

They also seized stories where Brueckner daydreams about snatching and abusing girls.

Despite the overwhelming evidence, investigators have been reluctant to charge over the case, fearing the lack of forensic proof would harm their chances.

They were also spooked by a court last year clearing Brueckner of other rape and sex assaults — an acquittal which put him on the path to freedom.

Since it became clear that Brueckner would be released this month, Met cops have significantly stepped up their activity on the case.

After his release, we told how British detectives secretly flew to Portugal to re-interview as witnesses a German couple he once stayed with.

It also emerged that investigators take seriously the prospect that Madeleine was snatched to order by human traffickers, potentially with links to Belgium.

Brueckner’s lawyers continue to protest his innocence on all matters.
