Despite warnings from the nation’s top health officials, visitors to San Antonio are still visiting major tourism hubs such as the River Walk.

Ruth Berggren, M.D., an infectious disease expert, said social distancing is necessary to avoid spreading the illness.

“If you care for your fellow human beings, you want to make sure that you don’t get it so that you don’t infect some other people,” she said.
