For Jennifer Felan, patient services representative in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry, being healthy and staying in shape have always been a top priority. When the pandemic forced gyms around the city to shut down, it was imperative for her to find a new way to keep up with her regular workouts. 

I have missed hitting the gym due to concerns about this horrible virus,” she said. Instead, my latest hobby is doing my gym workouts from home and following along to fitness shows.”  

With just a few simple pieces of equipment and a Roku TV system, she was ready to get moving. Utilizing a step riser, some hand weights and resistance bands, Felan focuses on cardio and upper body strength training for her at-home workouts, which she does twice a day, every day 

“It really helps me to stay on top of my fitness plan and to pick up where I left off before the whole pandemic happened,” she said. At-home fitness is now my favorite hobby. 

In addition to maintaining her physical health and wellness, her home workouts make her feel confident and less stressed, she said.
