President William Henrich, M.D., and Dr. Ralph Riviello, Emergency Medicine, are quoted in this San Antonio Express-News discussing how hospitals are bracing for a surge of coronavirus patients.

Dr. Henrich said epidemiologists suggest that patient volumes here could surge sometime in May or early June. After that, it could take months for the virus to abate.

Dr. Riviello, University Hospital’s director of emergency medicine, said a row of private rooms within the ER now is a “respiratory zone.” Certain staffers will be dedicated to the care of only coronavirus patients.
