Dr. Jan Patterson, professor of medicine and infectious diseases, explains the dangers of groups singing closely together.

“We know that the coronavirus is highly contagious and infects the upper respiratory tract,” said Dr. Patterson, professor. “When you’re in close, continual contact with someone who has the disease, there’s a high risk of transmission.”

Singing is especially hazardous, Patterson said.
