TWO civilians have been “killed in a Russian FPV drone strike” while carrying a white flag as Ukraine opens a war crime case.
Harrowing footage shows the moment two unarmed individuals and their dog are blown up.
In response, Russia claimed that Ukraine was behind the killings.
Ukrainian military sources claim that this “inhuman cruelty” was part of a “false flag” operation by Russia.
A false flag operation is an act committed with the intent of disguising the actual source of responsibility and pinning blame on another party.
The 77th Separate Airmobile Dnipro Brigade said “the enemy filmed this attack themselves with the aim of further spreading the footage in propaganda materials and falsely accusing the Armed forces of Ukraine.

“This fact indicates a systematic practice of disinformation and an attempt to shift the blame for war crimes onto our side.
“This crime is yet another testament that for the occupiers, concepts of honour, or law do not exist.
“Russian troops have once again shown their true face of terror and inhuman cruelty by conducting a ‘false flag operation’ [intended to blame Ukraine].”
The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office said it had opened a pre-trial investigation “into the commission of a war crime that resulted in the deaths of civilians at the hands of the Russian-backed occupying forces.”
The pair can clearly be seen holding a white flag which indicates that they are unarmed non-combatants.
“The victims were walking along the road holding a white flag, indicating their non-combatant status,” said the Ukrainian state prosecutors.
“As a result of the deliberate attack, they and their dog were killed on the spot.
“There were no military facilities or positions near the impact site.
“This cynical crime is further evidence of the systematic disregard by Russian forces for international humanitarian law and for the right to life of civilians.”
The horrid act took place on Monday “near the village of Kruhlyakivka in the Kupiansk district of Kharkiv region.”
Footage of the incident was caught on camera by multiple drones.
Russian war propagandists were the first to highlight the incident and quickly sought to blame Ukrainian forces for what happened.
“A Ukrainian drone operator first killed one civilian along with his dog, and later another drone killed the second one, tearing the people apart with direct hits,” reported Callsign Bruce.
Callsign Bruce is a Russian Telegram channel which boasts 122,000 followers.
“Moreover, the footage clearly shows one of the civilians kneeling and making the sign of the cross towards the drone’s camera, but this did not help.
“The Ukrainian operator clearly saw who was in front of him, as he circled for a considerable time to observer them.
“But he still decided to carry out these terrorist attacks.”
A separate war channel – Rybar – with 1.4 claimed the footage “shows Ukrainian Armed Forced drones attacking two elderly people who were leaving the combat zone and heading towards the rear of the Russian Armed Forces.”
“The drones circled around the elderly couple and their dog, clearly seeing who they were about to attack.
“After the first explosion, the second person knelt down next to the body of the deceased, crossed himself – and then became the target of a second strike,” Rybar added.
This is the latest in a long line of “false flag” attacks carried out by Russia.
Back in April, Russia’s nuclear power corporation, Rosatom, accused Ukraine of launching a series of attacks on the Russian-held Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station in south-east Ukraine.
However, Ukrainian intelligence were quick to dismiss these claims.

They said that Kyiv had nothing to do with these strikes, suggesting that it was Moscow who had carried out the attacks.
The United Nation’s nuclear watchdog has called for these incidents to cease immediately.
