Hospital beds are becoming scarce in San Antonio due to COVID-19. Contingency planning is now being ramped up to provide excess capacity when the hospitals are full.

“We’re all nearing our capacity,” says Dr. Robert Leverence, chief medical officer. He says the hospital’s models show “by the middle of next week, or the end of next week, we should look at another doubling of the number of hospitalized patients in town.”
