Governor Greg Abbott issued an executive order on June 25 postponing elective surgeries.

“Elective does not mean it’s not needed. Canceling a surgery is not a little thing. People put a lot into going into surgery, they get their work arrange, their families there, so we don’t take any of these cancellations lightly,” said Dr. Amita Shah, assistant professor and associate program director for the Division of Plastic Surgery.
